SLASH 'About To Start' Recording His Solo Album

March 4, 2009

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash has posted the following message on his MySpace page:

"I am just about to start recording my solo album and I've been super-busy getting all that together. But it's going smoothly and I've got a great team that I'm working with. The artists are fantastic. Unfortunately, I can't leak any names yet, but I will do what I can to let you know as each collaboration is completed."

Slash's wife, Perla Hudson, told the Rockerrazzi web site last fall that the guitarist's forthcoming album will feature a plethora of special guests, including Ozzy Osbourne and pop/R&B singer, rapper and actress Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson).

As a musician, artist, and iconic rock figure, Slash boasts a music catalog that spans several decades and a body of work that includes some of rock's greatest anthems. Since bursting onto the scene with GUNS N' ROSES in 1985, Slash has amassed album sales nearing an astounding 100 million copies along with seven Grammy nominations among countless other accolades, accomplishments and acknowledgements. Over the course of his illustrious career, Slash has performed and recorded with some of the most distinguished names in music, luminaries as diverse as Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, James Brown, and Ray Charles. Slash continues to evolve as an artist and pursue new creative outlets in fashion, TV, film scoring, and of course video games with the hugely successful Guitar Hero franchise, while remaining true to his love of rock n' roll.
